Woodlands Swimming Complex
An outdoor public pool run by ActiveSG at 3 Woodlands Street 13, a 10-minute walk from Marsiling MRT. There are three pools: a competition pool for laps, a large free-form teaching pool, and a wading pool with a water playground and slide. Entry costs $1 for adults and 50 cents for children on weekdays.

Closure notice: Wednesday, 7 October 2026
Woodlands Sport Centre, which runs the pool, is closed for a staff event. ActiveSG lists the closure for the “entire facility” of Woodlands Sport Centre. The pool’s own closure listing doesn’t mention it, so call 6269 4192 before you go.
The pools
Three pools and a water playground
ActiveSG lists one competition pool, one teaching pool and one wading pool, all outdoors. This is what each one looks like.
Teaching pool
A big free-form pool with ladders and shallow areas, where families and beginners swim.
Wading pool
Shallow, with a water playground: a small slide, a spray tower with a tipping bucket, and fountains. For young children with an adult.

All three pools are open 8am–9.30pm. On four weekday mornings the competition pool opens at 6.30am for lap swimmers. Every Thursday it's closed all day for maintenance, unless that Thursday is a public holiday.

Entry fees
From 50 cents, and free for Singaporeans 65 and over
Woodlands is a “normal” ActiveSG pool, so it charges the lower of ActiveSG’s two price tiers. You buy the pass in the MyActiveSG+ app and scan in at the gantry; staff can sell a single entry if you don’t have Singpass.

Getting there
10 minutes from Marsiling MRT
- Marsiling MRT (NS8), Exit B: about 724 m, around 10 minutes on foot.
- Woodlands MRT (NS9 / TE2), Exit 1: about 981 m, around 13 minutes on foot.
- Buses: 911 stops on Woodlands St 13, and 187, 856, 925, 950, 960, 961, 963, 966 and 967 stop at Marsiling Mall on Woodlands Ave 3, about 200 m away.
- Driving: HDB carpark W21 (Blk 167–179 Woodlands St 13) is about 150 m away: $0.60 per half-hour, free on Sundays and public holidays from 7am to 10.30pm.
- Cycling: the Woodlands (Ave 3) park connector runs from Marsiling MRT to the Street 13 park connector, which passes the complex.

History
A Woodlands landmark since 1989
The swimming complex opened in 1989 with Woodlands Stadium and the sports hall, together called the Woodlands Sports Complex. It has been a community pool ever since:
- 2002: thousands of residents filled all three pools for a Northwest CDC mass swim.
- 2007: a renovation was announced. A reader wrote to The Straits Times that the pool was “old and outdated” and hoped for fun features. We haven’t found when the work finished.
- 2013: the complex hosted North West SwimSafer Day.
- 2025–26: Sport Singapore refreshed Woodlands Sport Centre: the sports hall floor, walls, the facade and a new running track. No pool works were listed.

Frequently asked questions
What are Woodlands Swimming Complex’s opening hours?
All three pools are open 8am–9.30pm every day except Thursday. On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday the competition pool also opens early, 6.30am–8am, for lap swimmers. The complex is closed all day on Thursdays for maintenance.
Is Woodlands Swimming Complex open on Thursday?
No. It closes every Thursday for weekly maintenance. The exception is a Thursday that is a public holiday: then it opens 8am–9.30pm. The nearest pools open on Thursdays are Bukit Canberra, Choa Chu Kang, Senja-Cashew and Yishun.
How much is the entrance fee?
For Singapore citizens and PRs: adults (18–54) pay $1.00 on weekdays and $1.30 on weekends and public holidays; children (1–17) and seniors (55+) pay $0.50 and $0.60. Singapore citizens aged 65 and above swim free. The non-resident adult rate is $1.30 / $1.70.
How do I enter Woodlands Swimming Complex?
Buy a pass in the MyActiveSG+ app, then scan its QR code (or your NRIC) at the gantry. Woodlands has gantries, so you scan out as well. If you don’t have Singpass, pool staff can sell you a single-entry pass.
Is swimming free for SAFRA members?
Only at SAFRA’s own club pools. ActiveSG’s rates list no SAFRA discount, so at Woodlands SAFRA members pay the normal rates.
Does Woodlands Swimming Complex have a slide?
Yes, a small one: the wading pool has a water playground with a slide, a spray tower with a tipping bucket, and fountains. ActiveSG still classes Woodlands as a normal pool, so normal prices apply. Age and height limits for the slide are posted at the pool.
How deep are the pools?
Each pool has depth markings on its edge; check them before you get in, and keep children in the wading pool or the shallow end of the teaching pool.
Is Woodlands Swimming Complex being renovated?
No. Sport Singapore refreshed Woodlands Sport Centre in 2025–26, but the works were the sports hall floor, walls, the facade and a new running track, not the pools. ActiveSG has announced a one-day closure of the Sport Centre on Wednesday 7 October 2026 for a staff event.
What is the nearest MRT station?
Marsiling (NS8). From Exit B it is about 720 m, roughly a 10-minute walk. Woodlands (NS9/TE2) is about 1 km, around 13 minutes on foot.
Is there parking?
The nearest HDB carpark is W21 at Blk 167–179 Woodlands St 13, about 150 m away, at $0.60 per half-hour. Parking there is free on Sundays and public holidays from 7am to 10.30pm.
Is there food at Woodlands Swimming Complex?
There is a café in the complex, Citrus By The Pool. Marsiling Mall Hawker Centre is just down the road. You can’t eat inside the pool area itself: ActiveSG’s rules ban food and drinks in the facility.
Can children swim on their own?
Children under 12 can only enter with a parent or caregiver, and children aged 6 and under must be kept within arm’s reach of an adult in the water.
Are there swimming lessons at Woodlands Swimming Complex?
Yes. Woodlands Swimming Academy teaches there, with NROC-registered coaches who hold ActiveSG usage permits: from $35 a lesson in a group of 4 to 6, or $80 a lesson one to one. The first lesson is a free trial.
