Which pool for what

On a Thursday

Woodlands is closed. Bukit Canberra in Sembawang (5.1 km) is the nearest pool open, then Choa Chu Kang, Senja-Cashew and Yishun. Yio Chu Kang also closes on Thursdays.

For slides and a wave pool

Choa Chu Kang (6 km) has a wave pool, a slide pool and a spa pool. It’s a premium pool: $1.50 for adults on weekdays against $1.00 at Woodlands.

For a sheltered pool

Bukit Canberra has a six-lane sheltered pool and a sheltered wading pool, according to press reports when it opened in 2023. Everything at Woodlands is open-air.

For early laps on Thursday or Saturday

Woodlands’ early slot is Mon, Tue, Wed and Fri. Choa Chu Kang, Senja-Cashew, Yishun and Bukit Batok open their competition pools at 6.30am on Tue, Thu and Sat.

Notices to check before you go: Choa Chu Kang’s toddler pool is closed until 10 October 2026, and Bukit Batok’s competition pool until 2 October 2026.

Not on this list

SAFRA Yishun has a pool, but it’s a members’ club: SAFRA members swim free there, and it isn’t part of ActiveSG. Condo pools aren’t open to the public. No new public pool for Woodlands has been announced. URA’s draft Master Plan 2025 proposes an “integrated community hub” in Woodlands but doesn’t say what it will contain.
