The competition pool
The 50 m pool is the one for laps, with lane ropes, backstroke flags and floodlights for evening swims.
It’s the only pool open from 6.30am to 8am on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays: the best time for an uninterrupted swim before work.
ActiveSG’s rules allow starting blocks only where the water is at least 1.35 m deep, and only with a qualified coach supervising. Diving, running and dunking are banned everywhere.
The teaching pool
A big free-form pool with ladders on several sides and a yellow-and-red tiled ledge marking a step inside the pool. Covered walkways run right along its edge, so parents can sit in the shade within a few metres of the water. A lifeguard chair stands on the deck.
It’s where families, children and beginners swim.
The wading pool and water playground
The shallowest pool has a water playground in it: a red and yellow spray tower with a tipping bucket, a small blue slide, water arches and ground fountains. Entry is still the normal ActiveSG price.
ActiveSG’s rules say slide users must remove glasses, loose jewellery and watches, pregnant women may not use slides, and each pool sets its own minimum age and height (posted at the pool, not online). Children aged 6 and under must stay within arm’s reach of an adult, and children under 12 can only enter with a parent or caregiver. Ordinary diapers are not allowed in any pool.

Outdoor fitness corner
No food or drinks inside the pool area, no floats, fins, snorkels or hand paddles (except in a booked lane), no street clothes or unlined shorts in the water, and no photography without ActiveSG’s permission.

Questions about the pools
Does Woodlands Swimming Complex have a slide?
Yes, a small one: the wading pool has a water playground with a slide, a spray tower with a tipping bucket, and fountains. ActiveSG still classes Woodlands as a normal pool, so normal prices apply. Age and height limits for the slide are posted at the pool.
How deep are the pools?
Each pool has depth markings on its edge; check them before you get in, and keep children in the wading pool or the shallow end of the teaching pool.
Can children swim on their own?
Children under 12 can only enter with a parent or caregiver, and children aged 6 and under must be kept within arm’s reach of an adult in the water.
